With nearly two decades of experience as a trusted adviser for causes, candidates and coalitions, Joshua Henne has a proven track record in strategic messaging, communications, speechwriting and crisis management.
In 2007, Henne founded White Horse Strategies – a communications and political consulting firm. He’s written and produced television & radio spots, managed war rooms & debate prep, and executed direct mail & social media campaigns. Joshua knows how to both run rapid response and implement a long-term plan. He’s done so in his home base of the Tri-State New York/New Jersey/Pennsylvania area, as well as on campaigns and projects throughout the country.
A speechwriter in high-demand, Henne has drafted remarks and op-eds for Governors, Senators, Congress Members, State Legislators, Mayors, Council Members, athletes, and both business and union leaders. His own commentary and essays have appeared in such outlets as ABC News, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Star Ledger, LA Times, Penn Live, NY Daily News, Newsweek, Gannett Papers, Bergen Record, Times of Trenton, Politicker, NewsWorks, WHYY, York Daily Record, Asbury Park Press, NJ.com, NJ Biz, NJ Spotlight, Observer, AM New York and USA Today.
In addition to his electoral campaign experience ranging from the national to statewide to municipal level, Joshua also helped start and guide many independent political efforts – including 527s, C-3 and C-4 organizations and other expenditure programs. He’s led initiatives in the sectors of healthcare, education, higher education, the environment and many other policy areas. Joshua also worked as a Communications Aide in the Office of the New Jersey Governor. He oversaw the design of the official website for two separate administrations and served as Senior Speechwriter for one of the Governor’s Cabinet Members.
The Washington Post and The Fix named Joshua Henne one of the “best state-based political tweeters.” The Star-Ledger listed Joshua as one of “Jersey’s 40 Best Twitter Feeds” – saying “Henne puts a new spin on tired rhetoric and knows how to use twitter to advance his message.” PoliticsNJ named Joshua one of New Jersey’s Rising Stars, as well as one of the state’s Top Political Operatives. Fox’s Chasing included him in its 2014 Power List. NJ Globe named Henne to its 2018 Power List, saying “The Democratic political consultant is well-connected to progressive leaders, labor unions and influential independent expenditure groups.” And Politico called Joshua a “gleeful Chris Christie annoyer.”
Joshua Henne graduated with Honors from Emory University with degrees in both History and Political Science. Henne sits on the Board of Trustees for “Crossroads Of The American Revolution.” He’s run with the bulls in Pamplona and played soccer in the Maccabi Olympic Games. He’s also attended far too many Springsteen concerts than he cares to admit. Joshua is a Giants season ticket holder. An optimist by nature, he makes it a yearly tradition of going with his dad down to Florida for Mets Spring Training. Joshua has also performed stand-up comedy at top clubs — and not-so-top bars – throughout the East Coast.
After many years on his beloved Upper West Side, Joshua headed back across the Hudson River to his ancestral homeland. He now lives in Shrewsbury, NJ with his wife, Jeanette, and their kids Grayson, Harper, Jackson and Cami.
